Supporting every child to flourish as their authentic self

I’m Dr. Brooke Hamblin – a qualified Educational, Child, and Community Psychologist registered with the HCPC.
I have worked with children and young people for over ten years across a range of different contexts, and one thing has always remained the same. The best outcomes happen when we take time to really understand the child in front of us and the world they are living in.

I aim to show up to my work as my authentic self, bringing positivity, creativity, professionalism and a solution-focused mindset into every context I work within. My approach is relational, flexible and collaborative. I immerse myself in the child or young person’s world, taking time to understand what life looks and feels like for them, as well as the systems and people around them. I believe meaningful change comes from shared understanding, not quick fixes, and from working together as a team.

I often describe myself as a chameleon in my work. I adapt my communication and approach depending on the context, the people involved, and what is needed in that moment. While I bring psychological knowledge, skills and perspectives, I do not see myself as the expert who comes in with all the answers. Instead, I work alongside children and young people, families and professionals, valuing everyone’s experience and supporting collective problem-solving.

Relationships sit at the heart of everything I do. I work collaboratively to ensure that all voices are heard and that the child or young person remains at the centre of planning and decision-making. I am particularly mindful of creating spaces that feel safe, respectful and purposeful, where people feel able to think together and move forward.

I am a growth-minded practitioner who is always learning and adapting. While I am qualified in my role, I strongly believe that learning is a lifelong process and that every context and circumstance is unique. I bring a psychologically informed, evidence-based lens to my work, using reframing, dynamic thinking and flexibility to support positive change in complex situations. My focus is always on finding ways forward that feel realistic, compassionate and grounded in real life.
